Wong Tai Sin Temple

My wife insisted that we go to Wong Tai Sin Temple so that she could have her fortune told. I was hesitant at first but upon reaching the main entrance arch, I was glad I came.

I soon realized that Wong Tai Sin Temple or Sik Sik Yuen is not your ordinary temple. Built in 1921, this Taoist structure is the center of an attractive cultural park.

People who frequent the temple grounds are either Taoists or tourists. Taoists come to burn joss sticks...

...pray and ask for favors.

Tourists (like me and my wife) go there for a taste of the Taoist influence in Hong Kong... and yes, take a picture or two. The photo below is my favorite.

Going to HK? I suggest you include Wong Tai Sin in your itinerary.
